Meet Pernian Faheem, the newest BLISS ambassador in Washington D.C. Along with our first D.C. Ambassador, Farheen Mahmood, we now have two lovely ladies representing us in the capital city!

Pernian first became associated with BLISS in 2010, when we were running our first pilot in Attock. As an intern and student leader, she raised awareness and funds for us, and also traveled to Attock and worked with the BLISS girls, an experience that she says was transformative in more ways than one. Her experience with the young women made her realize that the success of any society rests on the education and emancipation of its women.

Pernian currently works in D.C. as an Analyst for an international trade consulting firm, Sandler Trade LLC, where her job is to help create import markets and new business opportunities in the United States for artisan groups in developing countries (i.e. connect US buyers to artisanal producers abroad). As part of her job, she gets exposure to large buyers and other relevant partners that could potentially open up many doors in the future for BLISS products.

Originally from Islamabad, Pakistan, Pernian recently graduated with a BA in Economics and Asian Studies from Mills College, an all-women’s college in Oakland, California. In her spare time, she loves to run, indulge in the works of Rumi, and find inspiration in the latest fashion trends of the season.

Welcome on board, Pernian!
